MRP Application Information




All Bangladeshi nationals need a valid Machine-Readable Passport (MRP) to travel abroad. The Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur issues and re-issues MRP to Bonafide Bangladeshi nationals following due procedure of the Government of Bangladesh.

There are two categories of application:


Passport Application (Newborn Baby) 

Applicants under this category are for

  • Applicants born outside of Bangladesh i.e., Newborn Baby, entitled to obtain a Bangladesh Passport by Descent

Documents Required:

i.) Four-pages new application form 01 set. Online Application for Bangladesh Machine Readable Passport(BGDMRP) - Application Step 1 

ii.) Photocopy and original copy (attested) of birth certificate issued by JPN of Malaysia.

iii.) Photocopy of Bangladesh birth certificate and copy of online verification.

iv.) Place of birth must be Malaysia in Bangladesh birth registration.

v.) 484 RM May Bank Cash Deposit Yellow Receipt, Receipt must have child's name and date of birth.

vi.) May Bank deposit account name: Bangladesh High Commission, Account number: 564427102268. 

vii.) Copy of parents' passport and visa.

viii.) Attested copy of marriage certificate/marriage certificate of parents.

ix.) Passport size photograph of the child.

x.) 3R/4R photograph if child is below 3 years of age.

xi.) Passport size photograph of parents.

xii.) Children must be accompanied. 


Passport Re-Issue Required documents for an application: - 

Applicants under this category are. Bangladesh High Commission Malaysia Provides passport reissue service though Malaysia. 

  • who have MRP (Machine Readable Passport) and want to get a Reissue of their passport or
  • Make Corrections on their MRP Passport for the clerical mistakes.


  1. Currently, the MRP is valid for 5 years and it is not renewable like the hand-written passport. As such, MRP should be re-issued once the validity is about to expire.
  2. Please note that a new MRP will be issued in case of MRP reissue.
  3. The applicant along with his old MRP copy, visa copy, and Maybank deposit slip need to send No-5, Lot 9 & 10, Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, 54100 Kuala Lumpur through the postal service.
  4. Application related to substantive changes of applicant’s antecedent (i.e Name of applicant/ father/ mother/ date of birth) will not be received. Only clerical mistakes correction may be entertained. 

 Documents Required:

  1. Filled up 1 page application form (DIP Form 2). Form Can be downloaded from www.passport.gov.bd/Reports/MRP_Information_Alteration_Correction.pdf 
  2. 1 passport size photograph (Not Mandatory). 
  3. Current passport photocopy (Page 2-3). 
  4. Current visa page photocopy. 
  5. Passport Fee payment receipt. 


Procedure to get the Passport reissue/ delivery services: -


  1. An applicant (having all the required documents mentioned above) need to send his application through POS Malaysia to the following address through the nearest outlet of POS Malaysia: - Address: (No. 5B & 5C (Lot No. 9 & 10), Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, 54100 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur).

  1. An applicant must track the following link to get the delivery slip number of the enrolled reissue application (https://appointment.bdhckl.gov.bd/reissue).

  2. An appointment of the POS Malaysia chosen post office is mandatory to collect the passport from that post office. To get an appointment please enter into the following link (https://appointment.bdhckl.gov.bd/).

  3. After having an appointment, please wait for the barcode and after receiving a barcode please track down your passport parcel into the following link. (https://www.tracking.my/poslaju) or (https://www.pos.com.my).


  Documents required to get your passport from POS Malaysia: -

  1. Latest old passport or the photocopy of the information pages of the latest old passport 

  2. In case of losing the latest old passport, please bring a police report regarding this matter.

  3. Appointment slip of POS Malaysia (with the Barcode).


Passport Fee

The passport fee is RM 484. But for students and General workers, the fee is RM 145. If anyone wants to avail the opportunity of paying the fee of RM 145, he/she must have to attach appropriate supporting documents such as a visa copy as proof of their claim being a student or general worker. As for illustration, if an applicant holds Professional Visa, he/she is to pay RM 484.


Payment Method

Passport fees have to pay in May Bank, Account Name: Bangladesh High Commission, Account Number: 564427102268. Any online fund transfer, ATM transfer, Bank Cheque/ Draft is not acceptable. May Bank Yellow Cash payment slip is only accepted. On the payment receipt, the applicant's name and passport number are to be mentioned accurately. High Commission will not be held responsible for payment-related mistakes.
